Important Drone Flight Information & Guidance
Safe and legal operation is my top priority. Please note the following:

Weather Dependant: All aerial work is subject to safe weather conditions. While I use detailed 10-day forecasts for planning, the weather on the day can still change at short notice. If a flight is postponed due to unsafe conditions (e.g., high winds, rain), we will rebook at the earliest convenience, free of charge.
​

Permits & Lead Times: Many locations require official permits, which need significant notice.​

UK Coastlines & Riverbanks (SSSI sites - Mersey Estuary, Sefton Coast & Wirral Coast): These sensitive areas require up to 4 weeks' notice for permissions. As part of our commitment to wildlife protection, and for the safety of our equipment, we will not fly in areas near to where birds are nesting.

Near Liverpool John Lennon Airport: Requires a minimum of 72 hours' notice for airspace coordination. Flights may be altitude-restricted or declined depending on airport activity.

National Trust Land: Commercial operations are generally not permitted unless arranged directly by the Trust.

UK No-Fly Zones: Please be aware that drone flights are strictly prohibited over and near certain sites for security reasons. These include prisons, youth offender institutions, Ministry of Defence property, power stations, and other locations protected for national security.

Temporary No-Fly Zones: In addition to permanent restrictions, temporary no-fly zones can be established at short notice for events like open-air concerts, festivals, stadiums, or large public gatherings including protests. These are generally controlled by the Police and flight without prior consent is not permitted.

Other Areas: Please allow a minimum of 4 weeks for securing permissions from other councils or private landowners.

Liverpool & Wirral Council Land: Requires a permit from the Liverpool Film Office with a minimum of 3 weeks' notice.

Client Responsibility: If you are unsure about the specific permissions or airspace restrictions for your desired location, it is highly recommended to book the Pre-Production Day service. If this service is not booked, the responsibility for securing all necessary permissions falls to the client. The full fee for the shoot will be due, even if the flight cannot proceed due to a lack of permission.
